"No Pinching" Vintage Lapel Pin

Hi everyone and welcomed to Atelier Mel'odee!!

Today I am participating in's

 "Trending Tuesday"
which will be happening the first Tuesday of each month over at
I had so much fun mixing up and playing with some cool products and am excited to share. Please read all of  my post as I will be doing another giveaway which I will be doing each month  on Altered Pages "Trending Tuesday"

It's almost St Patty's Day and I wanted to create something in remembrance of my Father in Law who not only passed on St Patty's Day, but enjoyed this day as one of his favorite holidays. He was such an awesome spirited man who loved to prank and pinch, lol. So in honor of him I created this cute little lapel pin to ward off all those Green pranksters out there who love to "PINCH" if  they don't see green!!! LOL

I used the collage sheet St Pat's Day from Altered Pages and fussy cut the little Leprechaun. After all what would St Pat's day be with out the little guy!
Next, I adhered him down onto another collage image I already had. I then adhered the images down to a piece of fabric and covered the entire piece with gel matte medium. I used my Gelatos along with my Niji Water Brush to shade my quote a light green. Once all was dry I sewed several layers together and added a handemade muslin four leaf clover, ( I used Dylusions spray ink to dye the muslin) and some yummy lace, a silk rose. a pin back and some eyelets in case one might decide to add a chain or ribbon and wear as a necklace!!.

I used an image from AP's collage sheet Music to My Soul and adhered it down to some heavy card stock to use as a display tag. I created a couple different styles as you see below. I typically only create duplicates if I want to keep one myself.

I will be using these sweet pins as little RAK's to some lucky person as well as giving one away here on the blog. All you have to do is leave me a comment and on Friday I will use my random number generator to choose a lucky recipient!!  If you would like to grab some of the products I used just click on the link I shared and it will take you directly there. I hope you have enjoyed your visit here today. Keep browsing the other Design Team members sites as they have created some WONDERFUL items as well!!

Thanks for dropping by!!

Day 1 Gritty Janes 40 Portrait Challenge

Hi everyone, Just spent the day watching this crazy snow fall while getting my art on. I mean really what better way to spend a snowy day, Right?
Well , today I decided to take a friend up on an offer to get involved with a cool challenge. See, I have been wanting to work more on drawing and painting faces so I went over and checked out

Jane  Spakowsky's (Gritty Jane) 40 Portraits Challenge on Facebook.

What a great place and some amazing artists. It got me so pumped I thought "Why Not".
Now the goal is to create 40 portraits any medium any style. You are also given daily word prompts to help you get started. You don't have to complete in any time frame but she does ask that you "Play Daily". Well, you don't have to ask me twice!!! LOL
So today I bring you my "Day1"

                                                 My word prompt was "Layering"
How perfect a prompt because I really love to layer paint and paper.
Like this challenge so well  I have already started # 2.
That being said my peeps, it's time to run!  If you are interested, you can join the challenge over on Facebook -
More portraits to come so keep checking back if you like!
